I think it would have been nice if OwlCrate could have written a little note of apology for how much “Love is a Battlefield” would be stuck in our collective heads over the last month, with their December theme … just saying. I kid, I kid. Here’s all the goodies inside December’s box:

We can all use a few extra layers up here in the cold North! Tes of @paperbackbones designed this pair of leg warmers based on Serpent & Dove (look at the cute little buttons) to sport with leggings and boots this winter. Not sure if I can pull this off, even being a child of the 80s, I have always looked a titch ridiculous in leg warmers … but my daughter is rocking them with her nightgowns!

The pandemic has forced us all to stay indoors and this has seen a huge resurgence in the popularity of puzzling. Included this month is An Ember in the Ashes 300 piece puzzle designed by Tiara L’Hommedieu (@bloodydammit). This is a must read series for me this year as I have put it off year after year. With the final book in the series just having been released it is the perfect time to pick it up … and puzzle away a beautiful scene featuring the main characters.

Winter weather means cozy sweaters and warm drinks, but it also means dry, chapped skin. So this month Fiction Bath Co whipped up some lovely hand cream for us all based on Of Fire and Stars, capturing a woodsy, peppermint atmosphere.

It has become an annual tradition for OwlCrate to include a wooden ornament from Juniper and Ivy Designs. This year’s ornament is inspired by The Wrath and the Dawn and was designed to replicate the unique covers of this duology.

Wintertime means lots of baking time … well at least for me it does. Included this month is a unique etched rolling pin designed by Michelle Gray (@themichellegray) inspired by the wintery woods of Spinning Silver. Use this little rolling pin to add decorative touches to your shortbread/sugar cookies, pastry, or fondant.

The monthly enamel pin was designed by Iron and Ink Designs, featuring florals from which the rival gangs in These Violent Delights take inspiration for their names.

Last, but never least, is the monthly book! Taking us on a classic retelling of Romeo & Juliet with a modern twist centred in Shanghai, These Violent Delights has been on my radar all year and I’m super eager to get reading it. This month’s book came signed by the author, with an author letter, an exclusive cover, beautiful reversible dust jacket artwork by @scarecrux, and an exclusively re-coloured hardback cover! Super deluxe special edition!!
